Thesis project developed at the Architectural Association’s Design Research Lab during 2010-2012 under the Alissa Andrasek Studio. It proposes a design process as a bottom up system with the capacity to produce buildings that self structure, adapt and co-evolve within the environment considering natural resources as part of a its tectonic system.
reTUR(n)INGmatter creates complex geometries with a variety of performative capabilities materialized with 3D printed technologies. It instrumentalizes the Alan Touring´s reaction-diffusion principle simulated in the computer and series of constraints for its materialization, developing a series of emerging forms prototyped into 3D printers.
Fabware is the product of the first design workshop at Architectural Association´s DRL. It researches design strategies for space filling, utilizing non-linear systems that exhibits complexity in its global form from very simple components and rules of agregation.
